Runners and Endurance Athletes
Common Problems with Runners
Overtraining: Jumping into too much, too fast puts extra stress on your body and leads to overuse injuries like stress fractures and tendinitis.
Poor Running Mechanics: Bad form (like overstriding or heel striking too hard) puts extra pressure on your joints and can cause stuff like runner’s knee and IT band pain.
Weakness and Imbalances: Skipping strength training and not following a smart plan can cause your body to compensate in ways that eventually lead to injuries and nagging pain.
Skipping Warm-Ups and Cool-Downs: Hitting a run without a good warm-up leaves your muscles tight and stiff, making you way more likely to strain something or get hurt.
Worn-Out or Bad Shoes: Running in old or wrong shoes messes with how your body moves and can cause problems like shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and knee pain.

Running Community Testimonials
Manny is an incredible PT – easily the best I have ever worked with, and as a collegiate runner, I have seen many PTs!
After 4 years of D2 cross country & track, I was left with numerous injuries and after several rounds of PT, I still was never able to get back to pain-free running. I have been working with Manny for several months now and I have never been able to make as much progress and am finally running again. Manny’s approach to PT is much different than standard PT - he is very passionate about physical therapy and takes a holistic approach instead of just treating one part of the body. He also customizes each program and tailors it to your needs – I have been really impressed with his ability to adapt his approach + feedback based on how I was responding to the programming. Manny is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also dedicated, patient, kind, and understanding. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs PT!

Manny has been of incredible help to me this summer in navigating both a return to high intensity running from an adductor injury, as well as, more broadly, a big adjustment to my relationship with exercise as a recently retired collegiate soccer player.
Manny knows his stuff backwards and forwards, but what sets him apart is his diligence, data-driven approach to programming, welcoming affect, and responsiveness to feedback. There are inevitably ups and downs when recovering from injury and the best PTs are able to help you weather setbacks and stay the course. Manny has done just that, making necessary adjustments and keeping things in perspective for me in these moments, leading to fantastic results: a quick return to running and considerable improvement in my strength and durability.
I am fortunate to know and to have had the chance to work with Manny and I recommend him to all athletes looking to recover from injury and/or take their performance to the next level.

I’ve been working with ECM for three months and he’s introduced me to a number of creative exercises to compliment my injuries. I’ve seen tremendous progress… more than I had in four years as a college athlete.
